Survey Design & Administration
PAER™ has extensive experience designing and administering online and hardcopy survey instruments. We design surveys around well-defined research objectives and pilot-test instruments prior to administration. We are detail-oriented and thorough, adhering to established research practices at all stages of a study to ensure high data quality. Reports of findings can be in the form of a set of slides and/or a written report. We have assisted many individuals and organizations in designing and administering their own questionnaires. With the increased availability of easy-to-use survey software, many organizations can administer professional surveys with a moderate amount of methodological guidance.
Examples of past survey projects and consultations include the following:
- Administration of an online survey to alumni of a small private university to indirectly evaluate the extent to which graduates had attained the knowledge and skills specified in the university’s institutional-level learning outcomes.
- Administration of an online survey to faculty of a large private university to assess faculty childcare needs and to identify preferred characteristics of a new childcare facility.
- Administration of an online survey at a large private university to assess undergraduates’ experiences, satisfaction with their education, and perceived preparedness for graduate school.
- Provided consultation to the marketing department of a core networking start-up organization seeking to gather input from its current customer base via an online survey. We reviewed several draft survey instruments and provided methodological input, but the organization managed the survey administration. We performed the analysis.
- Administration of surveys to residents of high-end apartment complexes in San Mateo to identify amenities and lifestyle features they value most.
